Robert K. Royce Distinguished Professor
Chief of Urological Surgery
Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis
Dr. Andriole has used Viking's EndoSite 3Di Digital Vision System for the past four years and has been sharing his experience with students and visiting surgeons to explain the clinical value of 3D visualization.
As Medical Advisor, Dr. Andriole will provide Viking's product development and clinical teams with expertise and advice to optimize the role of 3D visualization in complex laparoscopic surgical procedures. Dr. Andriole and Viking intend to use the relationship to create awareness about the significance of 3D visualization in minimally invasive surgery, specifically regarding the impact it has on surgical training, procedural efficiency, and patient outcomes.
Also, Dr. Andriole and Viking Systems are planning a series of academic and clinical studies aimed at investigating the benefits of laparoscopic surgery training in 3D, the increased level of efficiency and safety gained through the use of 3D, and how 3D visualization alleviates difficulties traditionally encountered in complex procedures.
